KUALA LUMPUR: Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng led a delegation from the Ministry of Finance (MoF) on a roadshow to Japan to meet and discuss with Japanese investors and senior government officials over three days. The trip was to promote Malaysia as a stable and high-potential investment destination, according to an MoF statement released on Friday.

PETALING JAYA, Jan 31 (Bernama) -- The Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) will increase the number of pasar tani (farmers’ market) by 25 this year. Currently, there are 748 markets with 30,790 traders generating RM852 million in sales, said FAMA chairman, Ishak Ismail, to Bernama after launching the FAMA Chinese New Year (CNY) Cost Savings Programme 2019 at the Section 17 farmers’ market today.

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 29 (Bernama) — The government spent RM2.3 billion on 10 women entrepreneurship programmes last year to spur women’s participation in business. Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said these programmes provided intensive training in entrepreneurship, export support, and financial assistance for women entrepreneurs.

KUALA LUMPUR: Kementerian Pembangunan Usahawan (MED) melancarkan program Profesional Training And Education For Growing Entrepreneurs atau PROTEGE sebagai usaha untuk mewujudkan peluang pekerjaan melalui platform keusahawanan. PROTEGE adalah penjenamaan semula Skim Latihan 1Malaysia (SL1M) yang diberi suntikan elemen latihan keusahawanan bagi melahirkan lebih ramai usahawan berdaya maju seiring dengan Rangka Kerja Keusahawanan Nasional (NEF).

KELANA JAYA: Angkatan Koperasi Kebangsaan Malaysia Bhd (ANGKASA) digesa menerajui sektor koperasi untuk meningkatkan perolehannya kepada RM55 bilion daripada sasaran RM50 bilion menjelang 2020. Menteri Pembangunan Keusahawanan, Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Yusof, berkata sasaran berkenaan boleh dicapai oleh koperasi dengan cabang perniagaan baharu dalam teknologi kewangan, produk halal, logistik dan agrikultur.

Tegasnya, negara Matahari Terbit itu juga terbukti memandang serius kepentingan produk makanan halal apabila memeterai memorandum kerjasama berkaitan halal Malaysia-Jepun pada 26 November  lalu yang turut mencetuskan Ekspo Halal Malaysia (MHE) 2019 yang berakhir di sini semalam.
